Perhaps Chad Johnson won’t resurface in football via the XFL after all.
A week ago, the former Cincinnati Bengals wideout made it known he had a tryout with the XFL as a kicker scheduled for Monday.
According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, Johnson backed out of the tryout on Sunday:
“But Johnson informed the league Sunday that he had decided against participating. He has not commented publicly about the decision.”
That’s unfortunate given just how fun it is to have the man otherwise known as OchoCinco around any sort of football at all.
And while Johnson hasn’t said anything publicly about going back on the tryout, fans can probably feel safe in presuming he’ll tell all at some point.
