Report: Celtics’ Yam Madar transferred to Serbian team Partizan Belgrade

Yam Madar, the Israeli point guard selected by the Boston Celtics in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft, is on his way to play for Serbian club Partizan Belgrade, according to a report by Sports Rabbi’s Josh Halickman.

Madar’s pact with Partizan is for three years after being transferred from his previous team, Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Isareli Premier Basketball League, according to Halickman.

The report comes on the heels of the news that Madar had an offer to play with German club with Ratiopharm Ulm.

Madar averaged 4.7 points in three recent Summer League games for the Celtics, but he was then knocked out of action by a groin injury.

Although it seems unlikely that Madar will find his way to the Celtics for the 2021-22 season, he still could be part of Boston’s plans for the future. The Celtics could choose to purchase his contract at any time.

Madar, 20, was selected No. 47 overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Celtics.
