Report: Celtics signing Justin Jackson to 10-day hardship exception

With five Celtics players in health and safety protocol and Dennis Schroder out with a non-COVID illness, Boston is bringing in 6-foot-8 forward Justin Jackson on a 10-day hardship exception.

Jackson, a former North Carolina Tar Heels star, was selected 15th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, and has since spent time with the Kings, Mavericks, Thunder and Bucks. Justin earned a championship ring with Milwaukee – though he only made one regular season appearance for the Bucks and did not feature in the playoffs. For his career, Jackson has averaged 6.6 points in 19.1 minutes per game.

Marcus Smart revealed that he lobbied for the Celtics to sign former Boston player Isaiah Thomas, led the Lakers in scoring on Friday night.
