Report: Celtics request a second workout for guard Terence Davis

The Boston Celtics continue to be diligent in their preparation for the 2019 NBA Draft, scheduling a number workouts ahead of Draft Day (June 20) and unsurprisingly, many of the workouts the Celtics have scheduled have been for backcourt prospects. That trend continues, as Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman reports that Boston has requested a second workout for former Ole Miss combo guard Terence Davis.

The Golden State Warriors have also asked Davis to come back for a second workout. Per The Athletic’s Tony Jones, the Utah Jazz will workout Davis and they have already interviewed him.

Clearly, Davis is a prospect garnering plenty of interest from the top franchises and that heightens the level of intrigue surrounding his rise up draft boards.

Davis, 22-years-old, averaged 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game for Ole Miss last season.

He’s a dynamic backcourt player with solid court vision, quick hands and speed, tools that could allow him become a valuable backup guard for the Celtics although he’s a streaky three-point shooter who has only made 33.9 percent of his career threes (he made 37.1 percent of his threes last season).

With the draft just weeks away, expect plenty more prospects to be named in connection with the Celtics.
