Report: Carlos Polk a candidate for Giants special teams coordinator position

The New York Giants continue their search to fill various coordinator and assistant coaching roles, including the special teams coordinator role left vacant following the termination of Thomas McGaughey.

The latest name to emerge as a potential candidate is Chicago Bears assistant special teams coach Carlos Polk.

The 46-year-old Polk was a fourth-round pick of the then-San Diego Chargers in the 2001 NFL draft. He spent seven seasons with the club before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2008 and retiring in 2009.

Following his playing days, Polk immediately jumped into the world of coaching. He served as the Grossmont College assistant special teams coach in 2009 and then re-joined the Chargers in the same role through the 2012 season. He also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Polk was hired by the Bears in 2022.
