Report: Cardinals to sign CB Tramaine Brock after working out pair of vet CBs

The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly added another veteran to their defense. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, they are going to sign cornerback Tramaine Brock.

This comes after the Cardinals reportedly worked both Brock and veteran cornerback Morris Claiborne on Monday.

Brock is 30 years old and knows Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. Brock was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted rookie in 2010 when Joseph was defensive backs coach.

Brock played for the 49ers from 2010-2016, working his way up from being a bench player to a rotational player to being a starter for two seasons. He played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2017 and then for the Denver Broncos in 2018, where Joseph was head coach.

Coming to Arizona means Brock will have Joseph coaching him for the third time.

With Denver last season, he played in 12 games, starting five, had 23 tackles and six pass breakups. He has 11 career interceptions but has not had one since 2016. His career high was five in 2013.

He figures to be in a battle for the third cornerback job with David Amerson, Brandon Williams and others.
