REPORT: Cardinals showing interest in Broncos OL Billy Turner

The Arizona Cardinals can now begin to make contact with free agents and they hope to upgrade the offensive line. Having already agreed to trade for Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert, they will likely turn their attention to guards.

One player the Cardinals have reported interest in is guard Billy Turner, previously of the Denver Broncos. According to Denver7’s Troy Renck, the Broncos attempted to re-sign him but the Cardinals are one of the team showing interest.

The former third-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2014 has bounced around a bit, spending time in Miami and with the Baltimore Ravens before being claimed off waivers by the Broncos in 2016.

In 2018, Turner played in all 16 games, starting 11. He can play both guard positions and also some tackle. He also started 12 games in 2015 for the Dolphins.

Teams cannot sign players until Wednesday after 4 p.m. Eastern.

Turner has connections to the Cardinals. Vance Joseph, Denver’s head coach from 2017-2018 is now the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator. Arizona’s offensive line coach, Sean Kugler, was Turner’s position coach in Denver last season.
