Report: Cardinals show interest in former Vikings DE Everson Griffen

It’s somewhat surprising that we’re in late May and defensive end Everson Griffen still remains a free agent.

The four-time Pro Bowler had eight sacks last season in a bounce-back season. While Griffen is 32, he’s still one of the better defensive ends in the NFL.

Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, one team showing interest in Griffen is the Arizona Cardinals.

Two veteran free agents who have had markets despite not signing — Jason Peters, Everson Griffen. Both have had strong interest from multiple teams (Cardinals believed to be among those for Griffen). Both staying patient, waiting for right opportunity.

Most Vikings fans would love Griffen, who was a fourth-round pick by Minnesota back in 2010, to somehow return to the team, but it appears as if Ifeadi Odenigbo will be the favorite for the spot opposite of Danielle Hunter on the defensive line.

Last season, Odenigbo finished with seven sacks.
