Report: Cardinals have no plans to sign WR Michael Crabtree

A report from Pro Football Talk said the Arizona Cardinals had signed receiver Michael Crabtree, but Mike Florio later retracted that report.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, while the Cardinals did work out Crabtree, they do not have plans to sign him.

Crabtree is a former first-round pick and a two-time 1,000-yard receiver. However, his production has dropped. He has fewer than 60 receptions and right around 600 receiving yards each of the last two seasons.

However, the Cardinals have a number of new receivers this year. They signed Kevin White and Damiere Byrd. They drafted Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler and KeeSean Johnson.

Clearly, the Cardinals have some interest in Crabtree. If there is an injury or players prove to be ineffective, he might get another call.
