REPORT: Cardinals expected to sign QB Brett Hundley to 1-year deal

The Arizona Cardinals appear to have found their backup quarterback for the 2019 season. Days after releasing backup Mike Glennon, they are planning on adding QB Brett Hundley, who was the backup QB in 2018 for the Seattle Seahawks.

The report comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal is reportedly for one season.

Hundley joins Josh Rosen as two former UCLA starters. The two were never teammates, though, as Rosen replaced Hundley as the starter for the Bruins as a freshman.

Hundley is mobile and is familiar with a spread offense, as is Rosen. Both ran spread offenses while at UCLA.

In his NFL career, he has appeared in 15 career games, all with the Green Bay Packers. He started nine games for an injured Aaron Rodgers, going 3-6.

He has nine career touchdown passes and 13 career interceptions.
