REPORT: Cardinals closing in on deal with WR Michael Crabtree

The Arizona Cardinals could be very close to adding some help at wide receiver. After releasing Kevin White on Wednesday, they are closing in on a deal with veteran Michael Crabtree, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Cardinals brought in Crabtree during training camp and reportedly offered him a contract. However, they did not come to an agreement at that time.

Rapoport reports a deal is “almost there this time.”

Crabtree would add experience to the receiver room and would likely be expected to start.

Crabtree was released this offseason one year into a three-year, $21 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. He was paid a $7 million signing bonus and made $1 million last year in salary.

He caught 54 passes for 607 yards and three scores in 2018 for the Ravens, but had issues in the second half of the season with drops and production once the Ravens went with Lamar Jackson at quarterback.

He has played 10 years in the league and has had over 1,000 receiving yards twice and over 80 receptions in a season three times.
