Report: Cardinals claim OT Brett Toth, cut by Eagles

The Arizona Cardinals promised to be active with waiver claims because of their No. 1 priority status. Expected to claim several players, the first name is coming out.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, they have claimed former Philadelphia Eagles tackles Brett Toth, who played collegiately at Army.

Toth signed with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie in August after getting a waiver from President Trump to defer his military service commitment to pursue a career in pro sports.

Toth is 6-6 and 291 pounds and participated in the Senior Bowl.

He missed all of training camp for the Eagles and half the preseason.

It is an interesting addition the Cardinals are making. Needing backup tackles, assuming they do not cut seventh-round pick Joshua Miles, by having both Miles and Toth on the roster, that means their backup tackles are both rookies.
