The Arizona Cardinals have added five players to their roster via waiver claims, according to reports. They have added two offensive linemen, a defensive lineman and a pair of cornerbacks.
One cornerback was former Rams cornerback Kevin Peterson.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the other is former Detroit Lions cornerback Charles Washington.
Washington appeared in 29 games in 2017 and 2018, although his 2018 ended on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered.
he has been nothing more than depth since he entered the league as an undrafted rookie in 2016 with Detroit. he has 13 career tackles.
The 5-foot-10, 192-pounder played collegiately at Fresno State.
With his addition to the roster, although not yet announced by the team, the Cardinals will have six cornerbacks, including the injured Robert Alford, who is expected to be placed on injured reserve so he can return later this season.
Because the Cardinals open the season against the Lions, Washington can potentially give them some intel on their defense.
