Report: Browns work out free agent RB Orleans Darkwa

The Cleveland Browns are still looking to add potential talent to the roster. According to a report from Jordan Raanan of ESPN, the team is working out free agent RB Orleans Darkwa on Monday.

Darkwa is a bigger, north-south style of runner at 6-0 and over 200 pounds. He missed the entire 2018 campaign with a knee injury, but his 2017 season with the New York Giants was impressive: 751 rushing yards and 5 TDs, with a 4.4 yards per carry average. He also caught 19 passes out of the backfield. Prior to that breakout season he was a bit player in two full seasons with the Giants a cup of coffee with the Dolphins.

He is a very different type of player from Duke Johnson, who would be the logical subtraction from the Browns roster if they do indeed sign Darkwa. Johnson continues to desire a trade, a demand he’s doubled down upon this offseason.

The Browns kick off training camp on Thursday.
