Report: Browns will sign free agent TE Demetrius Harris

John Dorsey is tapping into his Chiefs roots to acquire tight end Demetrius Harris in free agency. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the former Kansas City tight end is poised to sign a 2-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

The deal will not become reality until the stat of the new NFL calendar year later on Wednesday.

Harris should fill the role vacated by Darren Fells, who was recently released. The 6-foot-7 big man has spent his entire 5-year career with the Chiefs after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he played basketball.

He caught 12 passes for 164 yards and 3 TDs in 2018 and has 57 career receptions.
