Report: Browns ‘have expressed interest’ in ex-Titans CB Logan Ryan

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly one team that has expressed interest in former Tennessee Titans cornerback, Logan Ryan.

The report comes from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, who notes that Ryan would be a viable replacement for rookie safety Grant Delpit after he suffered a ruptured Achilles, ending his season.

Ryan has traditionally been known as a cornerback during his career but wore multiple hats while with the Titans and has been campaigning to be recognized more as a corner-safety hybrid recently.

He played predominantly in the slot in 2019, but wasn’t exactly great in coverage, which is likely a big reason why teams have been seemingly unwilling to meet his $10 million per year asking price.

Ryan finished first on the team in tackles, second in interceptions, and he posted the third-most sacks. The veteran was also lauded for his leadership and is an excellent presence in the locker room.

Earlier on Sunday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Ryan had switched representation and is “poised to do a deal” soon. He also stated that the 29-year-old has multiple suitors.

Should the Browns go ahead and sign Ryan, he would face his former mates in 2020, as Tennessee and Cleveland will meet at Nissan Stadium in Week 13.
