Report: Broncos talking with Billy Turner’s agent

The Denver Broncos are talking with Billy Turner’s agent and may re-sign the offensive lineman before NFL free agency negotiations begin on March 11, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Denver may try to re-sign Turner before other NFL teams have a chance to talk to him (and potentially make him a better offer). The Broncos are not expected to do the same with center Matt Paradis, who will likely be allowed to test free agency.

Turner (6-5, 310 pounds) entered the league as a third-round pick out of North Dakota State with the Miami Dolphins in 2014. He lasted just three years in Miami before a short stint with the Baltimore Ravens in 2016.

Turner signed with the Broncos after being cut by the Ravens in 2016 and he emerged as a rotation swing tackle last season. Turner started four games at right tackle and seven games at left guard in 2018. Turner’s versatility probably helps his chances of being re-signed by Denver.

The 27-year-old lineman allowed 3.5 sacks in 16 games last season.
