Report: Broncos GM John Elway attended Stanford’s pro day

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway was among the NFL dignitaries that attended Stanford’s pro day in California on Thursday, according to Shan Reddy of The Stanford Daily.

The Cardinal’s top prospects in this year’s draft are running back Bryce Love, wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside, linebacker Bobby Okereke, tight end Kaden Smith, cornerback Alijah Holder and offensive guard Brandon Fanaika, according to Draft Wire.

It’s probably no coincidence that WR, LB, TE, CB and OL are among Denver’s draft needs this year. Elway got a close look at Stanford’s top prospects at those positions on Thursday.

Arcega-Whiteside turned in a solid 40-yard dash time:

Elway, a Stanford alum, also attended Arizona State’s pro day earlier this offseason. His official title is president of football operations/general manager, a sign that he has a hand in all of the team’s personnel moves.

The Broncos currently own eight selections in this year’s NFL draft.
