Report: Bills and Jaguars interested in Steelers TE Jesse James

One of the key pending free agents for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason is tight end Jesse James. He’s been a steady performer for Pittsburgh since 2015. James and Vance McDonald form a nice one-two punch of blocking and receiving. Both are starter-quality, but they share reps.

According to NFL draft analyst Tony Pauline, the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars are very interested in signing James.

James has 36 starts over the last four seasons. He has 120 receptions for his career, with career-best of 43 in 2017. We’ve always felt James was underutilized in the Steelers offense, and if he thinks that too, he might want a fresh start with a team like the Bills.

Buffalo has a ton of cap space and could be buyers on running back Le’Veon Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown. It could be a big Steelers reunion in new uniforms in 2019.
