Report: Bengals will host predraft workout with DL Jaylon Ferguson

The Cincinnati Bengals will meet with Louisiana Tech defensive end Jaylon Ferguson before the 2019 NFL draft, per a new report.

The report comes from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who revealed a laundry list of visits for Ferguson. No surprise — he broke Terrell Suggs’ NCAA record for sacks with 45 over four seasons.

The productive defensive lineman comes with baggage, though. He wasn’t invited to the combine after a simple battery conviction as a freshman. He also struggled at his pro day.

If anything, it is quite clear the Bengals want to seriously upgrade in the defensive trenches during the draft. If Ferguson’s iffy path to the draft pushes him far down the board, the Bengals are clearly a team to watch as they look for a value buy.
