Report: Bengals trade Carlos Dunlap to Seahawks

The Carlos Dunlap era is over for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati shipped Dunlap to the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal includes a player and a pick.

The move comes on the heels of a rapidly deteriorating relationship between the Bengals and one of its best-ever defenders.

In August, Dunlap called out team ownership for its response to social justice issues. In early October during an abruptly-ended meeting with reporters, he made it clear he was mad about his reduced role within Lou Anarumo’s defense.

Later in the month, Dunlap took to social media to drop hints he was still upset, then went on Instagram Live to address all of the rumors. The Saturday before his team’s Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns, he then appeared to leak part of the team’s depth chart and said “I don’t got time for this” in regards to the plan.

As the loss to the Browns went final, Dunlap got in an altercation with coaches and Tyler Boyd spoke out against his actions.

Dunlap exits the Bengals as one of its all-time greats after joining the team in the second round of the 2010 draft and tallying 81.5 sacks for one of the top spots on the all-time list for the franchise.
