Report: Bengals hosting free-agent CB Brian Poole

The first outside free agent the Cincinnati Bengals will reportedly pursue is Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brian Poole.

ESPN’s Vaughn McClure reported Poole will visit the Bengals shortly after a visit with the New York Jets.

Poole is a former undrafted player out of Florida who spent the last three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, carving out a reputation for himself as a solid starting slot corner who can dabble at safety.

Still 26, Pool has played 742 or more snaps in each of his first three seasons in the league. After cutting Robert Alford, the Falcons decided to let Poole slip to unrestricted free agency.

As Bengals fans will point out, this throws into question the future of Darqueze Dennard with the team. He’s had a quiet market so far, which could be explained by any host of things, though his possibly wanting boundary-corner money could play a part.
