Report: Bengals host Oklahoma OT Cody Ford on pre-draft visit

The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t ruled out any positions in the 2019 NFL draft.

This includes along the offensive line, a point drilled home Thursday by a visit from Oklahoma’s Cody Ford.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the move.

Ford is a first-round prospect at tackle who checks in at 6’4″ and 329 pounds. His superb athleticism and size make him a high-upside prospect.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein suggested a move inside might not be such a bad idea: “As a tackle, he’s a developmental, high-risk/reward talent. The safer (and better?) route might be to play him as a guard where he will face less exposure in pass protection and where his size and athleticism should allow him to become a plus run-blocker fairly quickly.”

The Bengals won’t complain about either result. They brought on John Miller in free agency to play right guard but things could always change there if a competition happens. Ford could also compete at right tackle despite the extension for Bobby Hart.

Ford feels like one of those targets the Bengals could look at if they move back in the first round.
