Report: Bengals host Ohio State WR Parris Campbell on pre-draft visit

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t figure to be in the wideout market early during the 2019 NFL draft.

This hasn’t stopped Zac Taylor and the front office from getting a closer look at Ohio State wideout Parris Campbell before the draft. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals hosted Campbell on a visit.

Campbell is a 6’0″, 205-pound receiver who put up 1,063 yards and 123 touchdowns last year while averaging nearly 12 yards per catch.

After running a 4.31 40-yard dash at the combine and overall living up to the hype, Campbell figures to come off the board in the first round. But the defensive-minded nature of the class could push him to the second round.

The Bengals have yet to unlock John Ross’ skill set and both A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd are heading into contract years. This visit could just be due diligence, but if the new coaching staff likes Campbell, he could end up being a big surprise by the Bengals on draft day.
