Report: Bengals had late meeting with Central Connecticut State QB Jake Dolegala

The Cincinnati Bengals quietly took a meeting with a quarterback late in the process.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals had Central Connecticut State quarterback Jake Dolegala at Paul Brown Stadium this week.

Dolegala threw for 48 touchdowns over four seasons at the FCS level and has the endorsement of a notable like Gary Kubiak.

“I try to base my opinions off things that I’ve seen. I’ve been up close to those guys, and the velocity and accuracy Jake throws with is right in the ballpark,” Kubiak said, according to Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News. “His discipline with his footwork, same thing. It’s tremendous.”

A badly-timed injury kept Dolegala relatively off the major college radar and he stayed that way, but the NFL draft process has started to ramp up hype around his name again.

For the Bengals, Dolegala might make for an interesting late-round player to groom.
