Report: Bengals claim WR Pharoh Cooper, RB Samaje Perine on waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals made a pair of roster moves after the waiver wire started on Sunday, bringing on former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Pharoh Cooper and Washington Redskins running back Samaje Perine, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Perine is a former fourth-round pick from Washington who averages 3.5 yards per carry on his career over 21 games and has past experience with Joe Mixon as an Oklahoma product.

Cooper is a 24-year-old wideout and fourth-round product who is a former All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection as a kick returner, but he has just 25 catches on his career so far.

These moves come as a direct response to injury problems at both positions in Cincinnati. Perine is gameday depth while Trayveon Williams works his way back from injury and Cooper might get in the mix as a returner, though pushing aside Alex Erickson seems unlikely at this stage.
