Report: Bengals ask to interview Rams CBs coach Aubrey Pleasant for DC job

During his end-of-season press conference Tuesday, Sean McVay sent a message to new Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor: “You stay away from all our coaches.”

Taylor didn’t listen.

According to Mike Jones of USA TODAY Sports, Taylor and the Bengals have requested to interview Rams cornerbacks coach Aubrey Pleasant for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Pleasant joined the Rams in 2017 after spending four years with McVay in Washington from 2013-16. He’s held the same position in L.A. for the past two seasons, helping coach up guys like Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Nickell Robey-Coleman.

The Bengals are still assembling their staff and it makes complete sense that Taylor would want to interview someone he worked with during his time with the Rams.
