Report: Antonio Daniels leaving Thunder broadcast for New Orleans

The Oklahoma City Thunder broadcast will look a little different in the 2019-20 season. That’s not just because the Thunder may make some alterations to their roster or because they’ll have some new-look alternate jerseys. The actual broadcast team itself is reportedly going through some changes.

Antonio Daniels, who played for the organization from 2003 to 2005 back when the Thunder were the Seattle SuperSonics, had been a staple on “ThunkderLive!,” Oklahoma City’s pre- and post-game shows. Daniels had also been part New Orleans’ “PelicansLive!” and it appears that is where he plans to head next, according to Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. Duncan also adds that Daniels will take on a larger role, serving as the Pelicans broadcast’s analyst.

Daniels, who played for seven teams over the course of his NBA career, spent the majority of the 2009-10 season in New Orleans — back when they were the Hornets.

Daniels’ departure follows that of Fox Sports reporter and host Lesley McCaslin. She announced back in April she would be leaving the broadcast after spending seven years covering the Thunder.
