Report: Antonio Brown set to meet with NFL amid investigation

Former New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown will meet with the NFL next week as a part of the league’s investigation of allegations of sexual assault and rape against Brown, according to multiple reports.

Brown’s former trainer Brittney Taylor filed those allegations in a civil lawsuit on Sept 10, and detailed three separate incidents. The allegations came just days after the Patriots signed him. He denied wrongdoing through a statement by his lawyer. Patriots coach Bill Belichick repeatedly dodged questions about Brown’s situation before releasing him on Sept. 20.

Brown has remained a free agent since parting ways with New England. Teams have reportedly showed interest, but it seems they are waiting for clarity through the civil litigation and the NFL’s investigation.

Brown joined New England after demanding his release from the Oakland Raiders, a team he joined after demanding a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers last year. He may be one of the more talented receivers in the NFL, but he had continually refused to show up to work, whether over a disagreement with his coaches and quarterbacks (in Pittsburgh) or over a disagreement with the NFL over a helmet grievance (in Oakland).
