Report: Antonio Brown is filing a grievance against Patriots over contract

Receiver Antonio Brown is filing a grievance with the New England Patriots in an attempt to receive the $10 million guaranteed in his contract with the team. New England does not intend to pay Brown anything but his game check for the appearance he made in Week 2, according to NFL Network.

They signed Brown on Sept. 7 after the Oakland Raiders released him, but after the receiver faced allegations of sexual assault and separate accusations of sexual harassment during his short tenure in New England, the Patriots released Brown on Sept. 20.

After Brown went on a Twitter tirade on Sunday — during which suggested he would retire from the NFL and criticized Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who is facing charges for soliciting prostitution — Kraft reportedly intends to do everything in his power to avoid paying Brown.

Brown’s ability to win the grievance seems like a significant challenge, considering personal misconduct is likely to void the guarantees in Brown’s contract.
