REPORT: Andre Branch visiting Cardinals Thursday

The Arizona Cardinals canceled their final practice of mandatory minicamp but that doesn’t mean they are not continuing work on the roster. According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals brought in veteran defensive end Andre Branch for a visit.

Branch has played seven seasons in the NFL, the last three with the Miami Dolphins. He was on the Dolphins in 2016 when Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph held the same job with Miami.

Last season, he played in 14 games, starting only one and had 1.5 sacks. However, he had 11.5 sacks over the last three seasons for the Dolphins, including 5.5 in 2016 with Joseph as his DC.

If he were to sign with the Cardinals, he would likely play outside linebacker as he has played defensive end in a 4-3 system.

He would also be the sixth defensive player to have been on a team with Joseph on the coaching staff previously.
