Report: Amari Cooper turned down a bigger offer from Redskins

The Washington Redskins attempted to swipe from an NFC East rival again in free agency.

Word broke Monday that the Dallas Cowboys got back star wideout Amari Cooper on a monster deal. But as those reports surfaced, so did another — the Redskins tried to sign Cooper.

And now we know more.

According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the Redskins put up more money than the Cowboys in talks.

The fact Cooper turned it down probably pertains more to his desire to stay with the Cowboys than anything else. But it also says a lot that the Redskins were willing to go to these lengths.

Terry McLaurin and Amari Cooper would’ve been fun, to say the least. But consider it a signal the team remains on the hunt for another big-play wideout as they groom a developing passer.
