Report: Alvin Kamara expected to play vs. Jags

With running back Alvin Kamara surfacing on the injury report late in the week with an ankle injury, it appeared the Jacksonville Jaguars had a small shot at not having to face the two-time Pro Bowler, but that won’t be the case. According to several league insiders, Kamara will take the field Sunday at TIAA Bank Field as the New Orleans Saints will look to garner their fifth win of the season.

Kamara will come into Week 6’s game with just 75 carries for 342 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to his name. However, if his ankle is close to 100 percent, he could be up for his first 100-yard rushing game against a Jags defense that is the No. 25 ranked unit against the run and one that just allowed 285 yards and three touchdowns on the ground last Sunday to the Carolina Panthers.

In addition to allowing Christian McCaffrey gash them for 176 yards on the ground and two touchdowns, they also allowed him to be the team’s second-leading receiver last Sunday as he accumulated 61 yards and a touchdown through the air. With Kamara having 241 receiving yards to his name this year and a receiving touchdown, the Jags will also need to be mindful of his ability as a pass-catcher, as he could spell trouble for them through the air, too.
