Report: Alan Foster confronted reporters who spoke poorly of Ball family

Alan Foster’s reputation has long since taken irreparable damage in light of the lawsuit and allegations with Lonzo Ball and Big Baller Brand. Even despite having already served one prison sentence, Foster had rehabilitated his image publicly and had nearly everyone, Ball included, fooled of his real intentions.

As the layers begin to peel back, its easy to connect the dots in hindsight about Foster’s intentions and his character. In a recent LA Times piece detailing the FBI investigating Foster, a little nugget stored in the middle of the story revealed how Foster treated media.

“Foster confronted reporters who wrote anything of which he disapproved. He also tried to limit the influence of people working with the Ball family who weren’t of his choosing, according to people close to the family.”

Not that there needed to be any more proof, but it’s becoming clearer that Foster was a shady character. In this regard, it’s also clear that Foster has taught Ball how to control the narrative around his sons to the detriment of maintaining integrity. We’ve seen in the past Ball butting heads with reporters like both Jeff Goodman or Kristine Leahy. In each scenario, Ball was upset with reporters he could not control.

With Ball separating himself from the family, it appears he’s opening himself up to the public more. He’s already contributed to a New York Times interview about the financial advisor who spotted Foster’s embezzling. It’s those types of things Ball hasn’t done in the past that could be more in the future for him moving forward.
