REPORT: 3+ teams made recent trade inquiries about Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson requested a trade last season. He backed off that request. The Cardinals have been consistent in the message they will not trade him.

That apparently has not stopped the phone calls.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have continued to get phone calls. At least three teams in recent weeks have called trying to trade for Peterson.

Peterson has not played this season because he was suspended six games under the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. His suspension is over after today.

With these inquiries, it brings the total number of teams who have tried to acquire Peterson to six or seven, according to Schefter.

These calls have not been trade talks. The Cardinals have made it clear they have no interest in trading him.

The league’s trade deadline is October 29. The Cardinals, despite not having interest in trading him, will likely continue to receive calls from teams who want him.
