Report: 3 questionable Panthers all expected to play vs. Jaguars

The Panthers roll into Week 5’s Sunday games a bit short-handed. Cam Newton remains sidelined with his foot injury, Kawann Short and Chris Hogan have been placed on IR and the injury report is the size of a novella.

There is some good news to report this morning, though. According to Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, all three of Carolina’s players who are listed as questionable for today’s game against the Jaguars are expected to play. That’s Brian Burns, Eric Reid and Gerald McCoy.

Burns hurt his wrist slamming his fist after only a partially blocked punt against the Texans. Reid hurt his ankle in the second half and McCoy’s knee sounds like a regular thing that the team will be managing the rest of the year. Coach Ron Rivera told reporters it will be normal for McCoy to sit out of practice on Thursdays going forward.

Five players have been ruled out for today’s game, including Newton, Greg Little, Trai Turner, Donte Jackson and Chris Manhertz.
