(Image: Colin Mearns)

SCOTRAIL have issued an update after a busy line was closed due to a hanging tree branch.

Travellers at Glasgow Queen Street faced disruption due to the closure of the line between Blairhill and Coatbridge Sunnyside.

Now, ScotRail say the route has reopened, but there may be temporary alterations to services.

On X, they wrote: "We have removed the overhanging tree branches, and we are able to run services as scheduled.

"To allow us to return to a normal timetable, cancellations and alterations may follow. Please use our app and website for the latest info."

Travellers are advised to check their journey ahead of time to make sure they take the right route.
