Replacement announced for Bristol tapas bar Bellita on Cotham Hill

A former tapas bar in Bristol is going to be replaced by a restaurant serving two popular cuisines.

Bellita, which closed earlier this year, will reopen as Rock Salt in November and will specialise in traditional Indian and Chinese dishes, washed down with 'creative cocktails'.

A spokesperson said diners can expect dishes such as Lamb Raan, Chilli Paneer and Murgh Butter Masala, alongside a cocktail menu featuring a Rose Negroni, Cinnamon Bramble and a signature Rock Salt Margarita.

The new Cotham Hill restaurant is being headed up by ex-Dishoom chef Harris Massey and his business partner Kedar Subedi, who previously worked in the kitchen at Dhamaka.

Bellita, which opened in October 2015, was the sister site of Bell's Diner, which closed at the start of 2019 before being replaced by Bianchis, run by the Pasta Loco team.

Its owner said she was closing for two weeks in June to give her staff a holiday, but the restaurant still hadn't opened in late July.

It is unsure whether or not it reopened at all before closing permanently.

Rock Salt will open its doors in November.
