Repair works will see three Monklands roads close

Three Monklands roads will be closing over the next few weeks for repair works.

Ballochney Road in Plains is shutting for five days from May 12 for the completion of carriageway resurfacing by Amey.

The closure will run between Meadowhead Road and Airdriehill Road and drivers can use the A89 (Airdrie Road, Forrest Street), the B8058 Connor Street and Burnhead Road as diversions.

Carriageway drainage works mean Greengairs’ Darngavil Road will close from May 4-8, between Meikle Drumgray Road and Dykehead Road.

Motorists are asked to use the latter two roads and Stirling Road as alternative routes, while pedestrian access will be available “where practical”.

Finally, the B8058 Brownsburn Road in Airdrie is to shut between 6am and 6pm on May 23 for utility works.

This will apply from Ninian Road to Etive Drive and the A73 Carlisle Road, the B799 Lancaster Avenue and B802 Woodhall Mill Road are among the diversions available to drivers.
