Rep. Swalwell married over the weekend

California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell got married on Friday in Pleasanton, Calif., according to his registry website.

Swalwell's new wife, Brittany Ann Watts, is the director of sales for the Ritz-Carlton resort in Half Moon Bay, the New York Times' wedding announcement said.

The two met in Sept. 2015 through mutual friends, who, 12 years prior, Swalwell had set up.

Swalwell proposed in March at the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia, local Bay Area news IBA Buzz reported in April.

Nancy E. O'Malley, the Alameda County district attorney, officiated the couple's wedding.

Swalwell, 35, was first elected in 2012. His previous marriage ended in divorce, according to the Times.
