Rep. Matt Gaetz guest hosts show on Fox News

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) guest hosted Fox News' "Outnumbered" show on Friday alongside four other co-hosts, he said in a tweet.

Why it matters: Gaetz, a loyal surrogate and ally to President Trump, has been a recurring guest on the network's programs, but now has guest hosted a show despite being a sitting congressman.

Statement from Alan Komissaroff, VP of News at FOX News:

“Multiple politicians and pundits on both sides of the aisle have appeared as the ‘One Lucky Guy’ on Outnumbered as the show is formatted to have a rotating guest. Rep. Gaetz appeared in this capacity and did not co-host the show despite the factually inaccurate press release issued by his office.”
