Rep. Lauren Boebert jokingly challenges wheelchair-using colleague to ‘a sprint’

In a cringe-worthy quip, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., challenged a wheelchair-using fellow lawmaker to “a sprint” to settle their supposed spat over hiring newly minted right-wing hero Kyle Rittenhouse as a congressional intern.

The supporter of former President Donald Trump said a footrace would be a fair way to sort out the just-for-chuckles fight with Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., instead of the arm-wrestling contest that he had suggested.

“Madison Cawthorn has some pretty big (muscles) so I’m gonna challenge him to a sprint,” Boebert said. “Let’s make it fair.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if Boebert made the joke on purpose or misspoke.

The MAGA lawmaker is a prolific user of Twitter but has not mentioned the interview on social media and Cawthorn, who was partially paralyzed in a car crash, has likewise kept quiet about the ugly joke.

Sebastian Gorka, the ex-Trump aide who was hosting the interview with Boebert, laughed off the jibe in real-time during his show on the Newsmax network.
