WASHINGTON _ Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Bill Shuster will not seek a ninth term in 2018.
The chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee told The Washington Examiner on Tuesday he wants to prioritize working with President Donald Trump on an infrastructure bill.
He said he doesn't want to be distracted by a primary or general election.
"I thought it was the best decision for me to focus 100 percent on my final year as the chairman of the Transportation Committee, working with the president and other Democrats and Republicans to pass an infrastructure bill, which is much needed to rebuild America," Shuster said.
