Celtic have reached an agreement with Kawasaki Frontale to sign Reo Hatate, according to reports in Japan.
The versatile left-sided star has long been on Ange Postecoglou 's agenda and he's at the top of a list of January targets.
Record Sport previously revealed that Celtic are keen to get the deal done ASAP and that is likely to be heightened by their ongoing injury crisis.
Now Japanese outlet Hochi report that an agreement has been reached between the Hoops and his current club.
And with Hatate keen to join Kyogo at Parkhead, it seems there are no more roadblocks in the way of a potential deal.
It comes after manager Hajime Moriyasu named an all-domestic squad for Japan's fixtures next month - meaning Celtic won't be without Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi for a spell in late January and early February.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to managing the Japan team made up of domestic players.
"I want them to show there are still many good players waiting in the wings.
"Hopefully we can make people feel that Japan has more squad depth and got stronger."
