Reo Hatate will MISS Celtic's Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, as confirmed by Brendan Rodgers.
The midfielder was hurt during the victory over the same opposition on Wednesday night. There were fears over his availability for St Mirren tomorrow and then next weekend's final, but Rodgers didn't want to speculate until he knew the full picture.
But the Northern Irishman has now confirmed the midfielder will miss both those games as a result of what he felt was a "needless" challenge.
On the team news for tomorrow, he said: "Cam (Cameron Carter-Vickers) is back in. Ali (Johnston) obviously is fine and Reo is out."
Pressed for more information on Hatate, he added: "Yeah, he'll miss the last two games, sadly for him and for us.
"He's had a brilliant season in terms of availability, 55 games he's been involved in. So such a shame he'll miss the last two games.
"You're probably talking that he'll be okay for pre-season.
"But a shame for us, and even more so for him.
"I said at the time I thought it was a needless challenge. Everyone knew it was a free-kick and he's just there to stop the ball from running away.
"So, for that to happen is not nice."
