Reo Hatate Celtic Rangers injury fear continues but Aaron Mooy hands major boost ahead of derby

Aaron Mooy has offered Celtic a major injury boost as the Australian trained ahead of Rangers.

But there seems to be a lingering fear that Japanese star Reo Hatate won't make the crucial derby in a blow to the champions. Neither midfielder featured as the Hoops saw off Ross County in the Highlands and just days away from a massive derby with rivals Rangers it appears there was no training for the former Kawasaki Frontale man.

Yet Mooy, who has been integral to Ange Postecoglou's men this campaign, was pictured in the 'Lennoxtown Unfiltered' clip posted by Celtic TV. The 32-year-old can be seen getting stuck in to training and looks to be in good shape heading in to the weekend.

Scotland defender Greg Taylor also pulled up in recent weeks with goalscorer Alexandro Bernabei in from the start against County. It could be a major Old Firm baptism of fire for the youngster with the ex-Kilmarnock man also not pictured among training.

The Argentinian, who is the first from his nation to play for Celtic, has managed just a handful of starts this season as Taylor has held down the fort. Meanwhile the likes of top stars Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and goal machine Kyogo were all pictured training well.

Postecoglou can also be seen taking notes as the players engage in drills, as the Aussie looks to keep his unbeaten record against Rangers this season alive on Saturday and edge towards a potential title.

He said on injuries: "Hopefully next week. Him [Hatate] and Aaron were close but not quite ready. We've got a full week after this game and if everything goes well he should be available."

On Taylor, he added: "He had a dead leg which hampered him. But it’s nothing that’s going to keep him out I wouldn’t think.”
