Renton teenager signals official end of cancer treatment

A Renton teenager undergoing treatment for a rare cancer celebrated the official end of his treatment journey last week.

Arin Kirilmaz rang the bell at the the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, signalling the end of his chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma - a cancer in the neck which only affects 250 people a year.

The 14-year-old was surrounded by his mum and dad, Eileen and Hakki and twin brother Leon as well as hospital staff for the ceremonial moment on May 29.
