The potential eviction of families from an estate in east London by a US investment firm is the latest story to hit the headlines about how rent rises are forcing people out of desirable parts of the capital. With renters on the increase and expected to outnumber homeowners in 104 of the UK’s 650 parliamentary constituencies by the year 2021, according to research from the campaign group Generation Rent, we’d like to find out about the reality of renting in the UK today.
What are your experiences of renting? Are you living in London and experiencing rent rises in your area? Is it better being a tenant in other cities around Britain? What’s the situation like in rural areas? Do let us know where you’re living, when you tell us your experience, but please be careful about sharing details that may identify individuals. We’ll use the most interesting contributions in our reporting.
