Police mocked the hapless driver of a Lamborghini after the ultra-expensive vehicle span out of control and crashed in rainy conditions.
The incident took place on the M1 near Derby on Sunday night.
Derbyshire's Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter : "M1. Report earlier in the night of a Lamborghini driving anti-socially in Derby city centre.
"Later...this one loses control in the rain. Hire car - that’s the deposit well and truly lost. #DriveToArrive."
Pictures from the scene show how the supercar - which can cost over £300,000 - was left with serious damage to its right bumper and headlight, DerbyshireLive reported .
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit claim the vehicle "lost control in the rain" in poor weather .
Police initially received reports of a Lamborghini driving anti-socially in Derby city centre yesterday evening.
Officers were then called to a crash involving one of the luxury sports cars on the busy M1, but it is not known if the two incidents are related.
Accidents involving the German-made luxury vehicles are not entirely uncommon on British roads.
In March last year, a bright green Lamborghini was smashed into pieces after it collided with a bus .
The passenger side of the £250,000 Aventador Lamborghini was badly damaged but the driver escaped unscathed from the crash at 9.10pm near Nottingham train station.
No one is thought to have been injured in the accident.
Last July, a Lamborghini driver then fled the scene after aquaplaning, police said.
The white luxury supercar , thought to be worth around £300,000, was left abandoned on the side of the M66 near Ramsbottom, north of Manchester.
Traffic officers described it as a "very expensive mistake"
