Renmark school stabbing accused remanded in custody

An 18-year-old woman charged with stabbing a fellow student at Renmark High School on Tuesday has been remanded in custody after a brief hearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Paringa woman Amber Brea Rover, who is charged with aggravated causing serious harm, heard the court hearing through a phone link to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she is recovering from surgery.

She did not apply for bail but her lawyer was granted permission to call on a bail application before her next court date in November.

The alleged victim, a 17-year-old girl, remains in a stable condition in hospital.

The court did not hear any further details about the case.

A bedside court hearing for Ms Rover was postponed on Wednesday after her lawyer, Andy Ey, told the court he had been unable to speak with his client as she had received surgery and was not coherent yet.
